This article originally appeared in the Yiddish Forverts.
Fans of Yiddish and erotic poetry will gather at CYCO to hear selected poems from Troim Katz Handler’s new collection, entitled “Simkhe”.
The book launch party, which will take place on Monday, January 27th, will include readings and discussions in Yiddish and English. The program is being organized by Shoshke-Rayzl Juni, who edited the collection and Hy Wolfe, CYCO’s director and will begin at 7PM.
Refreshments will be served.
For more information on the program, write to the organizers at troim.net@gmail.com.
Besides the book launch itself, CYCO will be open starting at 5PM for those who wish to browse and purchase Yiddish books.
CYCO, New York’s venerable non-Haredi Yiddish bookstore, is located in Long Island City (02-51 21st street, 7th floor). CYCO’s catalogue can be accessed online here.
