Joseph’s Dreamy Technicolor Rainbow Print is Trending

It wasn’t too long ago that Rosie Assoulin brought the technicolor trend to the limelight with her rainbow lame pleated halter gown, sweeping the runway with glitz and shimmer. Now, the one-off trend is making a major comeback with appearances on and off the catwalk.

Whether or not Joseph from the book of Genesis truly had a technicolor coat is up for debate. But it’s been said that his father Jacob gifted him with this colored coat as a token of his love and favoritism towards his youngest son. While the biblical figure’s coat was probably handmade from the skin of his family’s cattle, luxury brands — who conversely source their materials overseas and sell these kaleidoscopic garments for thousands of dollars — clearly took note of the archaic centuries-old trend.

If there’s anything Joseph taught us (besides loyalty and resilience in the face of death), is that a girl can dream. Below, you will find the most dreamiest print that are sure to lift your spirits.

1: The LPA Rainbow Gia Bag

For when you’re wandering the desert for forty days and need a chic carrier to hold your straw-free, environmentally-friendly water bottle along with you for the tiresome journey.

2: The Prabal Gurung Rainbow Dress

The only one of its kind, custom made for Tiffany Haddish to wear on the runway to represent the colors of Eritrea — her father’s home country. “NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR MY JOSEPH AND HER TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT,” Glamour Writer Mattie Kahn aptly tweeted. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

3: Matty Bovan’s Runway Rainbow Hairstyle:

Designers like Matty Bovan caught wind of London’s punk rock roots, sprinkling their fashion week collections with multi-hued hairstyles. The perfect go-to look if you’re tired of living at home with your parents post-college and are currently rebelling against your religious upbringing.

4: Dolce and Gabbana Rainbow Lace Dress

Top off this show-stopping bodice lace dress with a crown, and Achashverosh would have surely chosen you over Esther in his famed contest for a new queen. The quintessential purim costume, clearly, does exist.

5: The Olivia Rubin Multi-Stripe Sequin Skirt

You may have seen her playful designs all over Instagram, donned on the likes of Eva Chen and Aimee Song. Rubin’s collection represents equality, pride, and above all, the belief that fashion shouldn’t be taken so seriously.

May we all merit to be the favorite child and be gifted with one of these sartorially gratifying lewks!
