25 Years Ago Today, Ruth Bader Ginsburg Was Confirmed To The Supreme Court
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the day that Ruth Bader Ginsburg was confirmed to the United States Supreme Court. On August 3, 1993, Ginsburg received a 96-3 vote from the US senate, making her the second woman, sixth Jew, and first Ruth Bader Ginsburg to ever sit on the Supreme Court.
Lest Ginsburg’s distinction of becoming the most cult-of-personality-inspiring judge of all time overshadow her legal accomplishments, in her 25 years on the court Ginsburg has ruled on landmark cases and redefined the concept of dissent. Her determination to right unequal practices using her brilliant legal mind is a pure example of a person using her god-given gifts to pursue justice, justice.
Twenty-five years ago today, the U.S. Senate voted 96-3 to confirm Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a Supreme Court Justice. And I think that’s reason to celebrate — especially when our country’s future depends on the Supreme Court right this minute. pic.twitter.com/EGuqEfdr0w

These days, RBG is inspiring documentaries and biopics, and becoming an unlikely fashion influencer. We celebrate those successes, and remember that beyond the glamor, she is a person who works every day protecting our rights.
Mazal tov, Justice Ginsburg.
