Trevor Noah Roasts Trump After Helsinki Summit With Putin

Trevor Noah went all out on Monday night while hosting The Daily Show and roasted President Trump after his highly criticized meeting with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

At the start of the monologue, Trevor Noah looked straight at the camera and deadpanned, “If your name is Vladimir Putin, then today was a very good day because the president of the United States took your side in a fight between you and the United States.”

Noah tore into Trump, who said he feels that there is no reason to not trust Putin, “Really? You don’t see any reason not to trust Vladimir Putin?” Noah asked. “The man was a top KGB spy. He’ll steal the shirt off your back. Hell, he stole the shirt off his own back. You can’t trust this man.”

When asked if he holds Russia accountable for the tumultuous relationship between the two countries, President Trump called his own country “foolish” and blamed both countries for the “mistakes” that they have made. Trevor Noah snarkily quipped: “It’s pretty wild for the President of the United States to defend Russia against the United States. It’s like seeing your team’s cheerleader pumping up the other side. It’s like, ‘Go team!’ But also their team. Both teams, but mostly their team.”
