Gal Gadot’s First Starring Role Since ‘Wonder Woman’ Will Be With Dwayne Johnson
Gal Gadot. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Art heist. Interpol. We can already taste the popcorn.
“Wonder Woman” star and sign-of-the-imminent-Messiah Gal Gadot has signed on to star in “Red Notice,” an action-adventure comedy movie that will be released in June 2020.
“Red Notice” will be the “Wonder Woman” star’s first lead role outside the DC universe. The film, written by Rawson Marshall Thurber, sparked a bidding war between studios. Details are under wraps but Deadline is calling the film a “globe-trotting, action-comedy, heist thriller” that follows Interpol agents as they track the world’s most notorious art thief. Writer-director Thurber is not a Jew (but he did once make a Michael Chabon novel into a movie! Also, he wrote “Dodgeball,”) and it’s being reported that he flew to London for 30 hours just to convince Gadot to take the role.
We’ll watch it if Gadot plays the art-thief. We’ll watch it if Gadot plays the Interpol agent. We’ll watch it, and write angry op-eds, if Gal Gadot plays the art.
Oh and Universal, a little tip? The Rock is fantastic, but Gadot is the star. We look forward to seeing him play her sidekick.
