“Star Trek” actor Anthony Rapp says he has gotten much more support than criticism since he accused famed actor Kevin Spacey of childhood sexual assault in an explosive Buzzfeed report in October. But the allegations, which resulted in a tweeted apology from Spacey as well as his firing from the show “House of Cards,” attracted considerable negative attention as well.

Rapp decided to post a handful of the cruel comments he received to Twitter. “I’ve decided I want to share some of them because these people need to be outed for their harassment,” he wrote. A quick scroll through the feed shows that Spacey-fans accused the actor — who alleges that he was assaulted at 14 by an adult Spacey — of seeking attention, “asking” for assault, and ruining their favorite tv show.

These kind strangers bring up several good questions. But wait! Here’s one they didn’t answer: Why don’t people come out about their sexual assault sooner?

Oh well. Guess we’ll never know.
