Barbra Streisand Is Learning About Rap From Tiffany Haddish
Eminem collaborated with Beyonce. Duchess Kate Middleton danced with Paddington Bear.
And today two more cultural icons made their allegiance public: The world shall not soon forget the meeting of Barbra Streisand and Tiffany Haddish.
The rock of modern Jewish civilization (Streisand) and the first female black comedian to ever host “Saturday Night Live” (Haddish) met on Saturday, as per Haddish’s Twitter. In the picture, Haddish grins as Babs clings to her shoulder, looking like the most popular girls at summer camp. They are at some kind of airy celebrity brunch buffet. Hot sauce, a green juice, and James Brolin gently repose in the background.

To add to this Rockwellian scene, Haddish captioned the photo, “Just so y’all know I taught my big sister about Cardi B today.” Haddish refers to the breakout rapper Cardi B, whose song “Bodack Yellow” was the top song on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks this Fall. Haddish also refers to the fact that she and Streisand have the kind of close relationship usually shared by sisters.
May Barbra Streisand, a sister to all, watch over us for ever. May Tiffany Haddish’s career be as long and varied as Streisand’s has been. May we all stay humble remember that Cardi B always has something to teach us.
