Amazon Acquires Rights To Script About Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp

Amazon has acquired the rights to “Linda and Monica,” the story of the friendship between Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp.

I was only seven when Lewinsky participated in the ill-fated sex act for which Bill Clinton was nearly impeached but I have vivid memories of the scene unfolding on the national stage. As far as lives can be ruined, Lewinsky’s was decimated. Despite the fact that the sexual targeting of a 22-year-old intern by the most powerful man in America is ethically egregious, it was Lewinsky who paid the highest price for the indiscretion.

Tripp, not quite a household name, was the woman who outed the sexual relationship between Lewinsky and Clinton.

The film, written by Flint Wainess, will be produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch of Escape Artists.

Feminism has come a long way since Lewinsky was subject to the worst case of ‘slut-shaming’ since Nathaniel Hawthorne’s ‘The Scarlet Letter.’ There’s legitimate hope that this film will tell her story in a way that allows us to recognize who the real victim was.
