This Jewish Woman Created the Infamous #TrumpCake (and a Clinton One Too!)
When a sad looking cake in the likeness of Donald Trump’s face was snapped being wheeled into Trump Tower yesterday afternoon, the internet had a field day.
The cake face was photoshopped onto babies, superposed over iconic images and incorporated into famous movies scenes (really making you re-think that sexy scene between Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in “Ghost”).

Meanwhile, Melissa Alt, the 24-year old New Jersey native who designed the cake, looked on with complete surprise as #TrumpCake started trending.
“It’s crazy, I wasn’t expecting it!” Alt told People Magazine. “We just went to Trump Tower to deliver it and there were people outside who went crazy taking pictures and spreading the word.”
Alt had the idea to make the cake after a client ordered an edible bust of Hillary Clinton.
“My manager’s friend knows Donald Trump Jr. so we asked them if they wanted the cake and they said yes,” she said. “I thought it was a good opportunity and it went well.”

The cake, which took 50 hours to make, was made out of chocolate and topped with fondant icing. When asked about Trump’s sad expression, Alt explained she was just trying to be as realistic as possible.
“Honestly, I was trying to capture Trump in the images I took of him from the Internet, and just worked from them,” she told the Boston Globe.
While Alt won’t comment on which candidate she had chosen to support this election, she admitted that she’s excited to be thrown into the midst of it all.
“I think it’s a pretty intense election that people won’t forget, so it’s exciting to be a part of it through the cake.”
