This is What Chelsea Clinton Had to Say About Her Friendship with Ivanka Trump

Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump are on a break.

At least that’s what Clinton told E! News yesterday when asked about her friendship with the Republican nominee’s daughter.

“I probably won’t talk to her before Election Day, but I’ll absolutely talk to her after Election Day,” Clinton said. “Our friendship started before politics, so it will last beyond politics.”

She added that despite their close bond, the two definitely have not seen eye-to-eye during this election cycle.

“We clearly have different views about what we think is the right answer and the right direction for our country, so I’m going to do everything I can to support my mom between now and when the polls close on Tuesday,” Clinton said.

Ivanka Trump seconded both those sentiments back in August during an interview with Fox News, explaining that while the two won’t be discussing politics (“It’s probably a good topic to avoid talking about now,” she said), they remain friends.

“We’re not the candidates. We’re the children of the candidates,” she said. “We’ve stayed close to one another, maybe a little less publicly so, but she’s a good friend. We support each other.”
