UPDATED: The Official Jewish Presidential Debate Drinking Game

Update:

Tonight at 9:00 PM EST, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will take part in the last 2016 Presidential Debate, moderated by Chris Wallace of Fox News. The debate will consist of six 15-minute segments on these topics: debt and entitlements, immigration, the economy, the Supreme Court, foreign affairs, and each candidate’s fitness to be president.

We’ve updated our popular drinking game from the first 2016 Presidential Debate for your entertainment pleasure. To ensure our readers make it to 120, we recommend something “sippable” rather than shots (Perhaps a nice Israeli whisky?). Please drink responsibly. L’Chaim!

Pregame:

Take a few sips during that awkward silent moment before the candidates come out and the cameras are fixed on their respective families. Then take one sip if they shake hands — and two sips if they don’t.

Fitness to be President

Drink the first time:

• Trump says Clinton is unqualified and she smiles with bemusement.

• Clinton says “I wanna be a president for all people.”

• Trump demands Hillary take a drug test.

Drink anytime:

• Someone mentions Trump’s midnight tweets.

• You hear the words, “I have a great temperament.”

• Hillary says moderator Chris Wallace’s name.

• You hear a Jewish sounding last name.

Economy

Drink the first time:

• Trump says not paying taxes was a smart move — and Clinton’s donors do it as well.

• Clinton brings up Trump’s tax returns (and take another drink when Trump immediately brings up her emails in response).

• Trump blames Obama for trashing our economy.

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “WikiLeaks” and “Wall Street speeches” in the same sentence.

• “Abraham Lincoln”

• “I am a great business man.”

Immigration

Drink the first time:

• Trump mentions ISIS more than once in a sentence (bonus points if it’s in an answer about women accusing him of sexual harassment!)

• For more on immigration, see Securing America below.

Foreign Hot Spots

Drink the first time:

• Trump brings up Benghazi.

• Clinton says how many countries she visited as Secretary of State.

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “I was against the Iraq war.”

• “Aleppo”

• “Israel”

The U.S.Supreme Court

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “Merrick Garland”

• “Justice Scalia”

• “Citizens United”

Debt and Entitlements

Drink the first time:

• Trump claims his tax plan would reduce the national debt.

• Clinton uses statistics and facts to describe her plan.

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “tax cut”

• “middle class”

• “bankers”

Bonus Drinks:

• Take a double shot when the camera shows Malik Obama or Trump mentions that he brought him as a guest.

• If Hillary does the shimmy, fix yourself a martini – shaken not stirred.

Below is Laura’s original Forward drinking game for the first 2016 Presidential Debate.

On September 26 at 9:00 PM, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will take part in the first 2016 presidential debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. The debate, moderated by NBC’s Lester Holt, will be broadly focused on the anodyne subjects of “America’s Direction,” “Achieving Prosperity,” and “Securing America,” which will each be debated over the course of two 15-minute intervals.

Both Trump and Clinton remain the most disliked presidential candidates in recent memory; it’s going to be a long evening.

Yes this will help decide the future of the Free World and no we don’t want to belittle that, but to make the heavy night of political discourse a little lighter, listed below are the rules for the Forward’s first official presidential debate drinking game. I and other Forward staff members will be live tweeting during the event; be sure to follow along and enjoy yourselves, and try not to think about all that’s at stake.

America’s Direction

Drink the first time:

• Trump talks about building a wall (bonus drink if he compares it to the one in Israel)

• Clinton says “America is already great.”

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “I know how to”

• “some people are saying”

• “barriers that stand in the way”

Achieving Prosperity

Drink the first time:

• Clinton mentions “hardworking Americans”

• Trump alludes to his successful Jewish accountants, lawyers, doctors, or relatives

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “to live up to his or her”

• “I gotta tell ya”

Finish your glass:

• If Trump reminds us that he doesn’t need our money

Securing America

Drink the first time:

• Trump laments the fact that the U.S. doesn’t use profiling in airports like Israel does

• Clinton reminds us of her friendship with Netanyahu

• Either candidate calls Israel our closest ally in the Middle East

Drink anytime you hear the words:

• “radical Islamic terror”

• Iran + nuclear

Finish your glass:

• If anyone calls themselves a “good negotiator” (like us folks!)

Bonus shot of Arak:

• Any member of the Trump family or campaign accidentally retweets a neo-Nazi
