Amy Schumer’s Into Cupping, and 7 Other Revelations

Amy Schumer is making the press rounds for her new autobiography “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo,” and treating her fans to some hilarious, painful and juicy tidbits along the way.

Here’s just a few of our favorites. You have zero filter, Amy, and we absolutely love you for it.

She met her boyfriend through a dating app.

Schumer admitted in her book that she met her current boyfriend Ben Hanisch, a Chicago-based furniture designer, through a dating app. But not some regular ol’ app like Tinder. The two met on a very exclusive dating service that celebrities (and furniture designers?) often sign up for.

Annnnd she has sex with him every day.

“We love having sex with each other, but there’s no performing. He’s so sweet,” Schumer told Howard Stern this week.

She tried cupping.

Schumer took a leaf out of Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps notebook and tried cupping, the healing fad that involves hot glass cups suctioning up portions of skin. Sounds — and looks! — absolutely painful.

She’s really not a fan of the Hollywood scene.

Okay, so maybe the whole Hollywood party scene is not as glamorous as it looks. Schumer told Stern that going to the Met Ball felt like a “punishment” and that A-list parties are her “worst nightmare.”

Her voice cracked while singing during her bat mitzvah.

Everyone laughed, but Schumer didn’t mind. Perhaps the earliest origins of her stand-up career.

She’s not the over-sexed, boozy character some people might think she is.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint anyone who thinks I walk around at all times with a margarita in one hand and a dildo in the other,” Schumer wrote in her book.

And on that note — she’s only had a one-night stand once.

According to her book, it was pretty great.

Not exactly a bombshell revelation, but she takes a beautiful look at all the ways a girl becomes woman.

One of them being: “You become a woman the first time you stand up for yourself when they get your order wrong at dinner.”
