WATCH: ‘Broad City’ Stars Announce Categories for Sexist Award Show
Lady-haters, take note. “Broad City’s” Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer announced nomination categories for the very first Golden Probe Awards, a parody ceremony honoring politicians for their “outstanding achievements in sexism or anti-choice, anti-women douchebaggery”.
The award show, which doles out nods for “Outstanding Writing Using Sharpie, Hobby Lobby Supplies and/or Microsoft Paint” and “Best Acting Like You Care About Women in a Non-Supportive Role,” has a timely angle.
Lady Parts Justice, the nonprofit behind the event, is aiming to shine a light on politicians who are advocating against reproductive rights—just in time for the election.
Jacobson, Glazer, Sarah Silverman and everybody’s favorite male feminist Matt McGorry are among those attending the star-studded event, which will take place October 2nd at (le) Poisson Rouge in New York City.
Per award show tradition, there will be musical performances, on-stage dancing and a tribute section. Not per award show tradition, the evening’s winners can expect to take home awards like “Outstanding Underachievement By a Legislator in a Leading Role” and “Best Adaptation of Reality in an Elected or Non-Elected Role.” Oh, and you know, also a little bit of shame.
