The Queen is Back! Bette Midler Will Return to Broadway in ‘Hello, Dolly!’
Previews begin March 13, 2017 with the opening slated for April 20, 2017.
Make room, Broadway. The Divine Miss M is back!
In what seems like an overdue casting, Bette Midler announced she will return to Broadway in a 2017 revival of “Hello, Dolly!” Do you hear that? That’s the sound of tickets already selling out.
Midler will play the lovable, flamboyant and hilarious Dolly Levi, a widowed matchmaker who sets out to make a match of her own. And of course, hilarity ensues. Directed by Jerry Zaks and produced by Scott Rudin, Midler will step into the role made famous by Carol Channing in the 1964 Broadway production and the 1969 film starring, who else? Barbra Streisand.
Previews begin March 13, 2017 with the opening slated for April 20, 2017. We would like to imagine that Streisand will be sitting in the front row on opening night, supporting Midler.
