Amy Schumer’s New Boyfriend Has Already Won Us Over

The Forward’s favorite funny girl, Amy Schumer, has found love with someone and he looks like a winner!

The lucky guy who stole the comedian’s heart is a Chicago-based custom furniture designer Ben Hanisch, who may or may not be a nice Jewish boy (TBD). Hanisch is the founder of The Last Workshop, a design house making simple, functional and sleek wood-based furniture.

The lovebirds looked incredibly happy with each other as they announced their relationship on social media on January 5. Hanisch posted a smiling photo of the two with the sweetest caption:

Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here’s to what adventures 2016 brings!

Hanisch accompanied Schumer to her New Year’s eve appearance in Seattle. The two rang in the new year together, and he appeared next to her in this video she posted on Twitter:

Days later, he accompanied Schumer, who has actively called for stricter gun control laws and an end to gun violence, to Washington DC. She sat in the front row during President Barack Obama’s announcement of his executive order for tighter background checks for gun sales at the White House. Schumer later posted a photo with other attendees, activists and Hanisch.
