Mark Zuckerberg Shares Adorable Annie Leibovitz Photo of Pregnant Wife
Mark Zuckerberg has posted a photo of pregnant wife Priscilla Chan that makes us wish Facebook had a double “like” function.
The black and white image, shot by fellow tribe-member Annie Leibovitz, shows the Facebook CEO with arms around his wife. Their baby girl is due any minute now.
“This is a stunning photo of Priscilla. I love her expression: intense yet kind, fierce yet loving, leading yet always supporting others,” Zuckerberg wrote. “Thank you to Annie Leibovitz for capturing her spirit so beautifully. — with Priscilla Chan.”
Per : “The photograph was taken at Vanity Fair’s New Establishment Summit, which took place in October at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Leibovitz set up a studio backstage, and portraits of many more luminaries in the worlds of technology, business, and media will debut in the coming months.”
The couple, who wed in 2012 — and noshed on some kosher goodies during their honeymoon in Rome — announced their big news earlier this summer with a controversial Facebook post revealing that Chan had been struggling with getting pregnant and previously suffered three miscarriages, a subject long considered taboo.
“In today’s open and connected world, discussing these issues doesn’t distance us; it brings us together,” Zuckerberg wrote in July. “It creates understanding and tolerance, and it gives us hope. When we started talking to our friends, we realized how frequently this happened — that many people we knew had similar issues and that nearly all had healthy children after all. We hope that sharing our experience will give more people the same hope we felt and will help more people feel comfortable sharing their stories as well. Our good news is that our pregnancy is now far enough along that the risk of loss is very low and we are very hopeful.”
“Cilla and our child are both healthy, I’m extremely excited to meet her, and our dog Beast has no idea what’s coming,” he added. “In our ultrasound, she even gave me a thumbs-up “like” with her hand, so I’m already convinced she takes after me.”
With almost 7,000 shares (and counting), this latest picture of the couple is enough to melt even the coldest of Internet hearts.
