Lena Dunham Calling It Quits With ‘Girls’

“Girls” creator and star Lena Dunham says Season 6 is like the Millennial queen’s last for the award-winning HBO series.
“Never say never, but that is the way that we’re thinking about it right now and we’re starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the story lines of these particular young women,” she said on the Elvis Duran’s podcast.
“I started working on this show when I was 23, and now I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world.”
Season 5 starts in 2016, so fans of the show have a while to prepare for its end.
While beloved by critics, the ratings for “Girls” have been fairly dismal. In the 18-49 demographic, it averaged a 0.34 in 2014 compared to 0.2 (about 400,000 viewers) in 2015.
