Meet the Israeli Voices of ‘Frozen’

‘Frozen’ has hit the place where it (almost) never freezes: Israel.

The Disney hit, which has grossed $1.13 billion worldwide — and counting, translates to “Lishbor Et Ha’Kerach” in Hebrew, which means “Breaking the Ice”.

“Let It Go” becomes ‘La’azov’ in Hebrew, and it means “To Let Go / To Leave.” Ice Queen Elsa is voiced by Mona Mor. Parents, if you want lure your kids into enjoying Hebrew school, showing them this video is probably a good plan.

In case you want to sing along, we’ve got the lyrics (in Hebrew, because, let’s be honest, you’ve already memorized the English ones):

Ha’sheleg bohek al harei ha’kfor,
Ha’makom reil milvadi
Mamlechet bdidut so’eret,
Ha’malka zo ani
So’eret ru’ach kmo sofot be’rigshotay
Ve-hi rotsah la’tset ve-lishlot alay.

Sod le’hachbi
Lo tachsefi
Ve-tihi tova u-malchutit
Ken ze sofi, lo yegalu
Tov, achshav yedu

La’azov, la’azov
Ve-ha’chofesh bi matchil linshov
Le’shachrer, la’azov
Ve-lalechet ad ha’sof
Le’shachrer, eid sodot yoter
She-ha’sufa tis’ar
Ha’kor lo mafri’a li, lo choder.

Matschik eich lo dimyanti
Marchak maktin ha’kol
Ha’pchadim kulam shaltu bi,
Ze shayach kvar la’etmol
Achshav uchal ulay lir’ot
Ma mesugelet la’asot
Ein tov, ein ra
Sof-sof ani chofshit!

La’azov, la’azov
Le’shachrer et sodot chayai
La’azov, la’azov
Lo evke yoter ve-dai
Kan ani, ve-ze kochi
She-ha’sufa tis’ar

Kochi choder me-ha’avir la’adama
Nafshi rokemet kishutim pru’im kan ba’shmama
U-machshava achat tslula mi’kol ha’sh’ar
Ha’perek ha’hu nigmar – Ma she’avar avar

La’azov, la’azov
U-mipo i-efshar lipol
La’azov, la’azov
Lir’ot, linshom, ligdol
Le’shachrer, dai le’histater
She-ha’sufa tis’ar
Ha’kor lo mafri’a li, lo choder.
