Kirk Douglas Loves Pope Francis

“I am a Jew who loves the Pope.”

So writes Kirk Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch) in a column for The Huffington Post’s Religion vertical. The Jewish man who immortalized Spartacus, is apparently a big fan of the new guy ruling over Rome (well, the Vatican).

“I have always said, ‘don’t be too religious,’ he adds. “However, Pope Francis is a good man for all religions. He is a humble person who identifies with the poor.

“He is a man who wants us to understand each other no matter what our differences may be and to do our best to help one another. And that is the core of what every religion should be.”

All I can say is Kirk, we called it.
