Seinfeld Gives for Sandy

Celebs are still thinking and talking about Hurricane Sandy:

Jerry Seinfeld has added an extra show to his current New York area stand-up tour. The comedian will donate the proceeds from that show in Long Island, along with those from two other sold-out shows planned for Brooklyn and Staten Island, to Hurricane Sandy relief.

Bethenny Frankel, who likened the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy to “a war zone” during an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, has donated $50,000 to Red Cross relief efforts and invited others to join her in giving.

In leftover elections news:

As would be expected, Judah Friedlander wore one of his signature trucker hats to Comedy Central’s Indecision 2012 Party.

Obama strategist David Axelrod won his election-related bet with Morning Joe’s Joe Scarborough, saving Axelrod from having to shave off his signature moustache. We thought this meant that Scarborough was going to have to grow a moustache, but it turns out he got out of it by promising to make a sizeable donation to epilepsy research instead (Axelrod’s daughter suffers from the condition).

And in other news:

Italian Tenor Andrea Bocelli told The Telegraph that his favorite country to visit is Israel. He was last there in 2011 for a performance at Masada.

Adam Lambert will perform at the VH1 Divas special this year. The event, which will be aired live on December 16, is a tribute to dance music and its divas and will benefit VH1’s Save The Music Foundation.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt tells what is was like working on “Lincoln” with Daniel Day-Lewis, who remained in character the entire time — off camera, as well as on. Even when the cameras were not rolling, Day-Lewis, who plays the 16th president, addressed Gordon-Levitt, who plays Lincoln’s son Robert, only as “Robert” and never as “Joe.”

Why can’t they just leave poor Anne Frank alone? The most recently broadcast episode of “American Horror Story” had a plotline even more bizarre than usual. It involved a woman who claimed to be Anne Frank who ended up at The Asylum after attacking some men with a broken beer bottle for using an anti-Semitic slur. It’s rather a convoluted story. If you’re interested, you can read the recap here or here.

Famed cartoonist Jules Feiffer has had it with the city. He has put his Upper West Side apartment on the market for $4.395 million and plans to move permanently to his spread in Southampton. He says he’s tired of New York’s “abrasiveness” and the way it forces you to “cope” the minute you get up each morning.

We’re sure you’ve always wanted to get to know designer Jonathan Adler better. Well, now you can…by reading this amusing interview he did with The Daily Intel.

Henry Winkler is partnering with the National Stroke Association to promote National Caregivers Month in November. Winkler has said that he struggled with trying to be a good caregiver for his mother after she had a stroke in 1987.

Designer Isaac Mizrahi is slated to join the cast of the fourth and final season of “The Big C.” He will play himself in the Showtime series, which stars Laura Linney as a woman battling cancer.

Mayim Bialik will be honored at the Night of Jewish Unity benefit on November 18 in Hollywood. Here’s the video invitation to the event she made for Jewlicious.

Drake is featured in fellow Canadian The Weeknd’s new video for “The Zone” off the latter’s soon-to-be-released album called “Trilogy.”

And in celeb sightings, we have Gwyneth Paltrow bundling up against the cold as she left Bodo’s Schloss, a new restaurant-bar-club in London, and David Arquette sporting nothing but a loincloth, chains and boots while filming his new film, “Orion.”
