Give Joe Credit
Six writers contributed to your forum on the legacy of Senator Joseph Lieberman, but not one of them referred to his role in securing passage of the bill that ended our armed forces’ “Don’t-Ask-Don’t-Tell” policy (“Exit Joe,” February 4).
The fact that America has joined those nations — Israel among them — that allow open homosexuals into their armies is a major event. Lieberman played a leading role in reviving this bill and getting it passed. He deserves recognition and respect for his efforts.
