Israel At 70: A Plethora Of Voices
As Israel turns 70, we wanted to bring you a plethora of voices from leaders we felt had something important to contribute. These voices reflect the diversity of points of view that we at the Forward try to bring you on every topic, but especially about Israel.
In these pieces, you will find a former Prime Minister of Israel, a Palestinian rights activist, a former ambassador, an American rabbi, and other leaders from Israel and here in the United States, whose voices represent the breadth of opinions in the Jewish community and beyond, though naturally not exhaustively. Each has something important to contribute to the conversation about Israel’s past, present, and future, its struggles and successes, its triumphs and failures. Each represents some portion of our community writ large.
In commissioning these pieces, I expected that they would be by turns provocative, inspiring, harsh and challenging. What I did not expect was for all of them to be so hopeful for the future.
We hope you will read and enjoy and discuss them all.
We also hope you will join the conversation. Please do send us your thoughts to [email protected]. We hope to hear from you.

At a time when other newsrooms are closing or cutting back, the Forward has removed its paywall and invested additional resources to report on the ground from Israel and around the U.S. on the impact of the war, rising antisemitism and polarized discourse.
