A Very Klingon Passover — Starting With The 4 Questions

Michael Burstein kindly provided the Four Questions in Klingon to those of his readers in the Federation of Planets celebrating Pesach (Passover).

The Four Questions In Klingon

  • qatlh pImlaw’ ramvam rammey latlh je?

  • qaStaHvIS Hoch rammey “Hametz” “Matza” je DISop,
‘ach qaStaHvIS ramvam’e’, “Matza” neH wISop.

  • qaStaHvIS Hoch rammey, Hoch tI wISop,
‘ach qaStaHvIS ramvam’e’, tI wIb neH wISop.

  • qaStaHvIS Hoch rammey, paghlogh taSDaq vay’ wIlan,
‘ach qaStaHvIS ramvam’e’, cha’logh vay’ wIlan.

  • qaStaHvIS Hoch rammey, maSopDI’, maQot qoj maba’,
    ‘ach qaStaHvIS ramvam’e’, maQotba’ Hochma’.

For those wondering whether Klingon Seders include four cups of Gagh, I did some homework. And, though the 51 and more varieties of the drink can involve worms processed in ways appropriate to the holiday, sadly the prohibition against the eating of creatures that slither on their bellies from Leviticus 11:42 rules out any prospect of kosher gagh — as long it’s made from real worms.
