Donald Trump Pushes Back Against Anti-Israel Question — Vows ‘100%’ Support
Donald Trump reportedly rebuked a supporter at a rally who questioned whether the U.S. should use its military might to back Israel.
The presumptive Republican presidential candidate pushed back hard when a questioner said he hoped the U.S. would not keep backing “Zionist Israel,” according to Politico.
“Israel is a very, very important ally of the United States,” the presumptive Republican nominee declared. “And we are going to protect them 100%. They’ve been our most reliable, they’re our true friend over there and we’re going to protect Israel 100%.”
Trump, who often fails to contradict supporters who spout conspiracy theories or tropes aimed at President Obama, went on to call the question “nasty.”
“Whoa. Are we all for Israel, right? Man,” Trump said, to cheers.
The supporter responded by raising his right fist and shouting: “We’re for America.”
“We’re for America, too, I agree,” Trump said.
