Joe Biden Plans Visit to Israel — Bibi Readies Red Carpet
Vice President Joe Biden is “considering coming to Israel in the coming days,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
A date for the visit has yet to be determined, Netanyahu said Sunday at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting.
“But it is clear that Vice President Biden is a welcome guest in Israel anytime he decides to come here,” Netanyahu said.
Biden’s advance team was scheduled to arrive in Israel on Sunday.
The daily newspaper Israel Hayom first reported on Sunday that Biden is expected to visit Israel in two weeks.
Biden and Netanyahu met on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, last month.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power arrived in the region on Saturday for a four-day visit to Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
