VIDEO: Terrorists Open Fire At Egypt Hotel in New Attack on Tourists
CAIRO — There has been another attack on tourists in Egypt, just one day after gunmen shot at Israeli tourists in Cairo.’
The new attack happened at the entrance to a hotel in the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada, where Egyptian security forces killed at least one gunman who opened fire, state television reported.
Two foreign tourists, one from Germany and one from Denmark were wounded in the attack launched by a number of assailants who reportedly arrived by sea.
The Islamic State militant group said on Friday an attack on Israeli tourists in Cairo on Thursday was carried out by its fighters, in response to a call by the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, to target Jews “everywhere.”
Security sources said those tourists were Israeli Arabs. None was hurt and Egyptian authorities said the airliner was probably brought down by a bomb, and Islamic State said it had smuggled explosives on board.
Tourism is a cornerstone of the Egyptian economy but has been badly hit by years of political turmoil.
