Jewish Extremist Vandals Attack Christian Village

The tires of 40 cars and trucks were slashed and a hateful message was sprayed on a wall in a Christian village near Safed.

The vandalism was discovered Thursday morning. It is the second attack apparently aimed at Christians in one week.

The message sprayed on a wall of the Jish village read “Only goyim (non-Jews) should be evacuated from our land.” Residents of the village, home to about 3,000 people, are predominantly Maronite-Christian, though about one-third are Muslim, according to Ynet.

Safed Police Chief Superintendent Yoram Azulay told Ynet “We are dealing with outlaws, and will do everything to bring them to justice. This is an exceptional and serious event.”

Israeli media are referring to the attack as a price tag incident. “Price tag” refers to the strategy adopted by extremist settlers and their supporters generally to exact retribution for settlement freezes and demolitions or Palestinian attacks on Jews.

On Tuesday morning, a Catholic monastery near Beit Shemesh in central Israel was vandalized with anti-American and anti-Christian epithets.
