Ryan Braun Plans To Admit Using Performance-Enhancing Drugs
Ryan Braun, the first Jewish baseball player to win the Most Valuable Player award in decades, reportedly plans to admit using performing enhancing drugs.
The so-called Hebrew Hammer will also apologize to teammates and baseball officials for his long string of lies about doping, USA Today reported.
Braun, the embattled Milwaukee Brewers left fielder, plans to admit using PED’s during his MVP 2011 season, friends told the paper. He is expected to explain the reasons why he used the drugs and to apologize, something he has so far refused to do.
He has spoken proudly about his Jewish heritage and was named to the Forward 50 after the now-tainted 2011 season.
Braun last month agreed to a ban for the rest of the 2013 season for a drug violation.
Braun decided not to challenge the punishment that abruptly ended his 2013 season on Monday after MLB investigators probing the alleged dispersal of performance enhancing drugs by a now-shut Florida anti-aging clinic presented their evidence to him.
No explanation or detail of Braun’s doping violation have yet been released, but several other players, including New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez, have been implicated in the Biogenesis scandal.
