Zion Square Jewish ‘Lynch’ Teens Get Slap on Wrist

Three Jewish teens involved in a mob attack on several Palestinian men in downtown Jerusalem were sentenced to prison.

The attack last August seriously injured Jamal Julani , then- 17, of eastern Jerusalem. He remained on a respirator for several days after the attack, and did not retain any memory of the attack, which was described by eyewitnesses and police as a “lynch.”

The Jerusalem District Court on Monday sentenced one of the teens to eight months in prison, a second to three months and a third to one month for their parts in the Hatulot Square attack.

Hundreds of people watched the Aug. 16 assault but did not intervene, police said at the time. Some two dozen Jewish teens were involved in the attack, egged on by a female Jewish teen, police said.
