Maariv Newspaper To Be Sold
Israel’s Maariv daily will be sold to Shlomo Ben-Zvi, owner of the daily Makor Rishon, for NIS 85 million, Maariv said on Friday.
Nochi Dankner, who controls Maariv, reached an agreement Friday afternoon with Ben-Zvi, publisher of the Makor Rishon daily, which is considered a right-wing publication. The deal does not include Maariv’s printing house and its public debts.
The deal, which is expected to be closed in upcoming days, is subject to the completion of due diligence.
In a report to Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, Maariv stated that Ben-Zvi will purchase the newspaper, Maariv’s website NRG, its network of local publications, magazines, publishing house, intellectual property rights, and other assets and rights which will be specified in the final agreement.
