The center of the quake was 570 kilometers (roughly 354 miles) northwest of Israel. No casualties or damage was reported. The Geophysics Institute in Lod reported that “at 4:55 P.M. an earthquake measuring 5.7 was felt in the Mediterranean Sea southeast of Rhodes. The quake occurred at a depth of 50 kilometers, and was felt in various places including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Afula.”
