Anti-Folk Music: A Ballad of The Bushes

Now Georgie Bush’s in Washington

He got there by a stunt he spun:

His friends in court said he’s the one

Although he really hadn’t won.

Georgie said, “I don’t feel shame,

For that’s the way we play the game.

There’s nothing that should make you stop,

So long as you end up on top.”

He said he had a lesson learned

He said his old man had been burned

By giving up a chance he earned

When he a simple move had spurned.

If old man Bush had chased Hussein

No matter what might be the pain

And if the war he did sustain

He’d win when he did run again.

But daddy was a wimpy guy

To oust Saddam he didn’t try.

A thing so dumb, can make you cry,

For soon Election Day was nigh.

And daddy lost a chance to scream

“You don’t change horses in midstream”

And so young Bill old Bush did cream

And put an end to daddy’s dream.

So Georgie said, that great mistake

My daddy made I will not make

I’ll have a war or two or three

But re-elected I will be.

So here’s to George, man of the hour

He knows the way to grab the power

Before this master we must cower

Unless, of course, his dream turns sour.

But can that ever come to be?

The answer, friends, is “yes, siree!”

For in this great democracy,

Real power rests with you and me.
