Rabbi Jacobs made it possible for me to establish my dream of creating a kosher food pantry in Plantation. I am not a religious guy and was never really involved in Judaism. But she never judged me. She just accepts me, and she understood my passion — to feed people. She has so much experience helping people who have lost their way. She shared all her knowledge, and we are now feeding about 150 people and growing. We just started a year ago. She writes inspirational pieces for the clients and is there for them. She helps us run the process and continues to inspire me as we build this mitzvah. On top of it, she is working with the local police, counseling them and visiting people in prisons. And she runs ISH, an organization that is reaching out to our community’s huge unaffiliated population. I don’t know how she finds the time to help so many people, but she does, and she touches so many lives.
