ARMENIAN ANGER: Armenians in Watertown, Mass., are outraged at the Anti Defamation League, Boston’s Jewish Advocate reports. They’re angry about remarks by ADL chief Abraham Foxman, in which he appeared to oppose a congressional resolution that would recognize the Armenian genocide.
TORRID MEETS TORAH: The L.A. Jewish Journal’s Amy Klein investigates “Jewish pulp fiction.”
Also in the Journal: Editor Rob Eshman knows “too many beautiful, brilliant single Jewish women in their 30s and 40s.” He blames the rabbis for the plight of these lonely singles. His solution to the problem? Let them date non-Jews.
HIS TO HERS BLESSINGS: The Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports that the Reform movement has issued new blessings for those undergoing sex changes.
NOAH AND US: The New York Jewish Week editorializes that Noah Feldman, the Harvard law professor who sparked an uproar with his recent essay “Orthodox Paradox,” “does seem to want to have it all.” “But,” the editorialist cautions, “it would be a mistake to simply write Feldman off and ignore the more troubling points he raises about real and important tensions between the values of modernity and the requirements of halacha, or Jewish law.”
