Prince of Pop’s Biblical Hero

King Solomon was wealthy and wise, and popular with the ladies. Who wouldn’t admire that? In an interview with Giant magazine, rock star Prince cited the biblical figure credited with building the First Temple of Jerusalem — who had 700 wives and 300 concubines — as someone he would turn to for guidance.

“The Bible is like the guidebook to help men and women with their sins. If I’m going to get some advice, wouldn’t I want it from Solomon? That man had a thousand wives. I mean, I want to talk to the guy who had a thousand women!” he told the publication.

The flamboyant musician, who is a Jehovah’s Witness and who has never been known to shy away from members of the opposite sex, recently made headlines when he angered retailers and music executives by giving away 3 million copies of his latest album, “Planet Earth,” in the British Sunday tabloid, The Mail.
