Life Hack: How To Try Lobster While Still Keeping Kosher

For years the American public has been left with the difficult choice of picking which flavor Lay’s branded potato chip people would end up having to grudgingly buy in a gas station, for lack of more gourmet options. This democratic crowdsourcing process brought us Crispy Taco Chips and Fried Green Tomato Chips. It also brought us Mango Salsa favored chips, but what can we say? The American public has never been too great at voting.

But this year, Lay’s decided to switch it up with its new Taste of America project, debuting eight new flavors at one time.

And here’s the kicker – every single one of these flavors will be inspired by American regional cuisine. From Chesapeake Crab Bay Spice to Deep Dish Pizza, these chips will do what every food substitute promises, but which none manage to deliver; a way into the bewildering, overwhelmingly non-kosher cuisine of small town America.

Craving a New England lobster roll? Buy some Lay’s and crumble it on a comforting mound of eggs. Jonesing for some Chesapeake Bay Crab Spices? Well, get thee to the supermarket, then. Two seafood-inspired flavors! Who says you can’t have it all?
