Einstein Brothers To Start Offering Mac & Cheese Bagel
If you’re in the mood to live fast and die young, and are craving an absolute carb-palooza, and have the sturdy heart of a Russian-Jewish peasant which laughs in the face of threat, you might want to try Einstein Brothers’ new Mac & Cheese bagels.
It’s comfort food on comfort food: The bagel chain Einstein Brothers (incidentally a non-Jewish company committed to co-opting fans of Jewish bagels with an ambiguously Jewish name), are a long-time fan of jumping on the publicity stunt train, as with their cheese shampoo and bacon conditioner, and now with their mac & cheese bagels.
The foodies doing their taste test at Food&Wine concluded that it was a hearty, indulgent party. For $5.95, this is pretty much the most carbs you can get for your buck short of going to McDonald’s. Featuring cheese baked into the actual dough, along with Annie’s organic cheddar macaroni liberally sprinkled on top, along with six more melted cheeses and a slice of cheddar to give you full heart palpitations, this newest variation on a bagel is a volcano waiting to erupt. Cream cheese is also available for spreading on top.
You only live once is the battle cry of a generation. This has never been more true. Eat up.
