Gourmet Kosher Restaurant Set To Open At Tulane
Kosher-keeping freshmen heading to Tulane this fall will finally have an easy time gaining the freshman fifteen like their fellow (non-kosher-keeping) classmates: gourmet kosher food will be available at the university’s Hillel house.
This August, a restaurant called Rimon –– which is hebrew for pomegranate –– will open at 912 Broadway Street. The chef, Daniel Esses, has worked in some of the most exclusive restaurants in the country and is a fixture in the New Orleans foodie scene.
A graduate of the Natural Gourmet Cookery School in New York, Esses has created a menu that will feature healthy dishes like a curried chickpea burger and a turkey club made with beef bacon and a Caesar salad (sans Parmesan cheese). The restaurant is open to Tulane students as well as the general public.
