Jewish rapper Kosha Dillz releases song dissing Kanye West
West has been in the news this month for making many antisemitic statements.
Jewish rapper Kosha Dillz, whose real name is Rami Even-Esh, released a video called “Death Con 3” dissing Kanye West for his recent antisemitic statements.
“We don’t have the luxury of ignoring certain things,” Dillz said. “A lot of people asked me my position. What Kanye did is out of hand, he didn’t apologize, and he has a huge amount of influence. I listened to Kanye West. I’ve seen him perform. I watched him in college and thought he was so cool. He’s empowering the wrong people. I wanted to put out a song that was direct to him.”
Dillz said he wished more celebrities would speak out. “A lot of Jews are fans of Kanye, but I don’t think they should be anymore,” Dillz said.
Shot in Crown Heights, Dillz wears tefillin and a yarmulke in the video and some Hasidim are behind him.
West has legally changed his name to “Ye.”
