Norwegian Cruise Line Now Offers Kosher Food For No Extra Charge

Norwegian Cruise Line unveiled a new kosher menu that will be available to customers at no extra charge, The Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.
The offerings include sealed kosher meal packages with meat, chicken and fish. Meals will comprise an appetizer, main course, two side dishes and a dessert. Groups with more than 60 people can also now have their food prepared in a kosher kitchen on board. Challah and white or red wine will be available on Shabbat, and matzah will be available on Passover.
“We are now setting a new standard in the global industry, and now kosher, rich and varied food will be part of the culinary experience we offer in all of our ships,” Norwegian Cruise Line vice president Nick Wilkinson said in a statement.
Norwegian is the third-largest cruise operating company in the world. Wilkinson cited the growing number of Israeli families choosing cruises for their vacation as a primary reason Norwegian expanded their kosher options.
