Twitter Burns Javanka For Enjoying Mar-A-Lago Sun During Government Shutdown
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner left wintry Washington D.C. and a mostly closed government for vacation at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, Daily Mail reported.
The president’s daughter and son-in-law are also his senior advisers and technically federal employees. Kushner was reportedly active in the shutdown negotiations. Yet they were spotted on Christmas Day, day five of the shutdown, getting sun in Palm Beach, Florida, according to photos by DailyMail.com.
Trump was jogging around the grounds alongside a Secret Service agent, and later in the day, the casually clad couple went for a walk, hand-in-hand.
Twitter, naturally, came for the vacationers.
I am a bit confused because last week, the White House said Jared was critical to the negotiations when he was on the Hill with Pence and Mulvaney.

Ivanka Trump is much more deft at crafting outfits than policy but then she has experience with the outfit crafting, so there’s that. https://t.co/36aGXGTF99

President Trump announced that he wouldn’t allow the federal government to be funded until Congress agrees to spend billions on a wall dividing the U.S.-Mexico border. About 420,000 federal employees are working through the shutdown but will not be paid.
