Palestinian Driver Shot While Attempting To Run Down Israelis In West Bank
JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian man was shot and wounded as he attempted to run over with his car Israeli soldiers and civilians waiting at a bus station in the northern West Bank.
The Israelis were waiting at the bus stop at a junction just south of Nablus, near a military base, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
The driver is from Nablus, the IDF said. He was taken to Beilinson Hospital at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikvah for his injuries.
The Palestinian driver reportedly sped up as he approached the bus stop and attempted to drive between two concrete blocks placed in front of the area to prevent such attacks. One of the soldiers waiting at the stop shot him, a person waiting at the stop told the Times of Israel.
There has been a rise in such attacks throughout the West Bank in recent weeks.
