WATCH: Columbia Student Shouts ‘I Love White People’ In Video
A white Columbia University student went on a racist rant Sunday morning, shouting, “White people are the best thing that happened to the world” at a group of primarily black underclassmen, the Columbia Spectator reported.
“We are so amazing! I love myself, and I love my people! F—- yeah white people!” sophomore Julian von Abele shouted, following the students from Butler Library to a campus dining spot at about 4 a.m.
Late last month, swastikas and an anti-Semitic slur were spray-painted in the office of a Jewish professor, who writes often about the Holocaust.
The episode was captured on video and has amassed more than 1.7 million views, according to New York Daily News. It shows von Abele raising his arms, yelling about how Europeans “built the modern world.”
He continued: “I don’t hate other people, I just love white men!”
Passersby were visibly uncomfortable, with someone off-screen sighing, “Oh God.”

Several school deans denounced the “racially charged incident” in a statement to students that evening. They wrote that there will be a disciplinary investigation, but meanwhile, hosted a event for reflection on Monday.
