Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney, met Wednesday with federal and New York state law enforcement officials who are investigating Trump’s business and charity practices, CNN reported Wednesday.

Previous reports have indicated that Cohen has already spent hours with investigators working for special counsel Robert Mueller. Those meetings took place without any promise of immunity, ABC reported last month.

Cohen pleaded guilty last month to eight charges in federal court and admitted to paying porn star Stormy Daniels at Trump’s direction to silence her story of an affair with the future president.

Trump said in an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday that Cohen was “lying” and described him as “a PR person who did small legal work, very small legal work.”

New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood sued the Donald J. Trump Foundation in June, alleging a “pattern of persistent illegal conduct, occurring over more than a decade.” As part of its case, the state is seeking to bar current and former members of the charity’s board, including President Trump and his children, from serving in a leadership role in a New York not-for-profit organization for a year.
