Hillary: Monica Lewinsky Affair Wasn’t Abuse Of Power By Bill

Hillary Clinton said in an interview Sunday that the affair between her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and Monica Lewinsky was not an abuse of power, as Lewinsky “was an adult,” CBS reported.
On CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” the former Secretary of State reiterated that her husband was right not to resign after the scandal came to light in 1998.
Hillary Clinton claimed it wasn’t an abuse of power because Lewinsky, who was a White House intern, was an adult. Asked if Bill Clinton should have stepped down, she answered, “Absolutely not.”
She said that the investigation that followed “came out in the right place,” CNN reported.
In March, Lewinsky wrote a piece for Vanity Fair, “Emerging from the ‘House of Gaslight’ In the Age Of #MeToo.” In it, she revealed the scandal that “alter[ed] the course of my life.” She wrote candidly about being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, and the painful trauma she’s endured over the past 20 years. She unequivocally considers the affair an abuse of power.
