Neo-Nazi Group Spreads Hate Through Washington State—With Candy
Bags carrying candy and an anti-immigration message were found in residential neighborhoods in the Seattle suburbs last week, the Seattle Times reported.
The bags, which included a message to “Keep America American,” were distributed around Bellevue and Clyde Hill and promote the website of Patriot Front, which the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as a a neo-Nazi group.
The flyers encouraged citizens to call Homeland Security to report illegal immigrants, stating, “They are not immigrants, they are CRIMINALS.”
Bellevue police spokesman Seth Tyler told the Seattle Times on Sunday that there is not much for police to do in response, unless the material is left on the side of the road, in which case they could press charges for littering.
Patriot Front, originally from from Texas, is active in multiple states including Washington. Posters and business cards advertising the group were found on the campus of Tacoma Community College in March.
