Lawsuit May Force Daily Stormer, Neo-Nazi Website, To Reveal Funding Sources

The Daily Stormer, Andrew Anglin’s neo-Nazi website, may be forced to reveal its funding sources in an ongoing libel lawsuit, the Daily Beast reported.

Anglin, whose whereabouts are unknown, is trying to dodge two lawsuits related to his website. One concerns a Jewish woman in Whitefish, Montana. Anglin urged his online followers to harass and threaten her family.

Another lawsuit is from the radio host Dean Obeidallah, who accused Anglin of defamation after the Daily Stormer identified Obeidallah as a terrorist behind the 2017 bombing of an Arianna Grande concert in Manchester, England. Obeideallah’s defense team has asked a judge to enter a discovery phase for Moonbase Holdings, LLC, a shell company Anglin used to fund the Daily Stormer.

Moonbase Holdings could be a reference to the 2012 science fiction comedy movie “Iron Sky,” in which Nazis escaped destruction at the end of World War II by establishing a swastika-shaped base on the dark side of the moon. Anglin’s father incorporated the LLC in September 2016.

In December 2016, Anglin announced that the Daily Stormer would be able to accept credit card donations. It is not yet clear if the Moonbase LLC is the entity through which any such transactions were made.

Anglin claims to be hiding in Cambodia, but reports suggest that he is in Ohio.
