Israel Attacks Hamas Target In Gaza After Arson Of Construction Equipment
JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel Air Force jets attacked a Hamas military site in the southern Gaza Strip after four Palestinians crossed into Israel and set fire to Israeli construction equipment near the border.
The equipment is being used to construct a barrier between Israel and Gaza both above ground to stop inflitrators and below ground to stop the threat of infiltrators from terror tunnels. The heavy equipment suffered only minor damage from the arson attack.
The Palestinian infiltrators fled back in to Gaza when Israeli troops arrived in the early Saturday evening incident.
Late on Saturday night the IDF struck what has been identified as a Hamas training camp near Rafah.
“The IDF will continue to thwart all attempts to harm the State of Israel and will respond severely against those who wish to harm Israeli civilians. Hamas is held responsible for all aggression coming from the Gaza Strip,” the IDF Spokesman said in a statement.
