2 Israelis Killed In Palestinian Car Ramming Attack In West Bank
A Palestinian motorist killed two Israelis and injured at least one other person in the occupied West Bank on Friday in what witnesses described as a deliberate ramming attack but may have been an accident, Israel’s Army Radio said.
The incident took place near the Jewish settlement of Mevo Dotan, west of the Palestinian town of Jenin, the radio said.
The motorist was detained shortly after and was being treated for injuries, it said, without elaborating on their cause.
Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service said there were two people injured in the incident but did not confirm the fatalities. The Israeli military said in a preliminary report that the incident appeared to have been a car-ramming.
Car-ramming attacks have been used by Palestinians against Israelis in violence that has simmered since 2015.
The craggy roads of the West Bank, shared by Palestinians and Israeli troops and settlers, also see frequent traffic accidents
