Anthony Scaramucci Cozies Up To Orthodox

Anthony Scaramucci, who served a short but colorful reign as President Trump’s chief spokesman, is cultivating relationships in the Orthodox community as he plans a comeback, according to a McClatchy report.
Scaramucci is scheduled to appear or be honored at upcoming events hosted by the National Council of Young Israel and JBiz Expo, both Orthodox groups. He also spoke recently to the Republican Jewish Coalition.
“He’s an Italian guy through and through,” Matt Brooks, executive director of the RJC, told McClatchy. “But he’s got a Jewish soul.”
McClatchy reported that Orthodox sources were “puzzled” by Scaramucci’s appearances at a wave of Jewish events. “I think he’s a colorful guy, but no idea why he’s become suddenly honored at events, going to Israel,” New Jersey rabbi Zev Reichman told the outlet.
Scaramucci served in the Trump White House as communications director for ten days in the summer of 2017. He was fired after giving a vulgar interview to the New Yorker.
